Acclaimed STEM and test prep tutor who uses a deep-rooted understanding of psychology to unlock students' full potential

A former banker turned aspiring psychiatrist, I grew up with two teachers for parents and a love of learning. I took on my first student in Middle School and haven't looked back since. I spent part of my childhood in New York, where I attended the Lycée Français followed by the Spence School. Between my parents and my schooling, I learned Russian, French, and Spanish in addition to English. I then moved to London where I finished high school and went on to graduate with Honors in Psychology from University College London. After working in Fixed Income Sales for Bank of America in London, I decided to combine my love of working with people with my passion for mental health. I moved back to New York, where I completed a Post-Baccalaureate Program at NYU and volunteered in various adult and child psychiatric units. I graduated with a 3.97 GPA and a 522 (99th percentile) on my MCAT, with a perfect score on the verbal section. I am an expert SAT tutor and ACT tutor with proven results and a focus on test preparation, chemistry tutoring, biology tutoring, and math tutoring. I use techniques acquired through years of psychology training to connect with students in a way that makes them feel comfortable and engaged. I help them stay on track using humor, metaphors, and real-life examples to illustrate what we are working on. I enjoy the challenge of figuring out how to best tailor information to a new student while finding different ways to explain a difficult concept. Great teachers should also teach and share knowledge acquired in their own training. But they should do all of this in the context of helping their students improve their study methods, deepen their ability to think critically and approach to material on which they will be measured. As the Spence motto goes, “Not for school but for life we learn.” Please note that rates vary based on subject. Thank you.
