Biography

Alexander Henry is a sought-after tutor with over ten years' experience. He has helped students from New York and Boston's top independent schools implement good study habits, learn effective test strategies, and raise their test scores and grades, often dramatically. Past students have been admitted to such colleges as Harvard, Yale, and Columbia, and secondary schools including Andover, St. Paul’s, and Riverdale, among many others. Alexander grew up in Boston and attended Milton Academy and Yale College, where he graduated with distinction in the music major. Alongside his work as a tutor, he is a classical guitarist who has performed internationally, received a master’s degree from the Yale School of Music, and studied in Switzerland as a Fulbright Scholar. A New Yorker, he is based for the 2017-18 academic year in Boston, where he is taking classes in the Harvard English department and working on a novel. He is available via Skype/FaceTime, as well as for in-person sessions in the Boston area and, periodically, in New York City.
